My 2 Cents on Online DVD Rental

This is the ONLY way to rent DVDs! Try the FREE TRIAL, you'll get HOOKED!
Fun and Friendly!

Are you getting the impression that I like this concept? You're right.

Whether you're a huge movie buff, or you just like a good movie once in a while this is fun stuff,
that makes sense.

I have to admit, when I first looked into renting DVDs online, I couldn't justify paying $20 a month for it. I only rented movies sporadically, and then maybe only 2 at a time. I was very picky about what I rented. Didn't want to waste my trip and my $4 or $5 on a dull movie. So, I put off trying the FREE TRIALS. But, when I was asked to review this concept I went ahead and signed up. WOW! This is cool stuff!

The way I choose and rent movies has totally changed. (And not just because I'm doing it online.) Since I now pay a flat fee, I'm more open with the movies I choose. I've picked movies I wouldn't regularly deem worthy of my rental time and money, and I'm finding that a lot of them are very good! I've gone crazy with my movie Queue and now have a movie or two at all times at my home. Nothing good on TV? Pop in a movie I haven't seen yet! I love getting things in the mail and now there's a movie waiting in there for me every few days.

Between Clean Films and Netflix, I personally have chosen Clean Films.

Clean Films provides Family Edited Movies, which fit my personal viewing habits perfectly. Family Edited Movies are backup copies of popular Hollywood DVD titles that have been edited to remove nudity and sexual situations, offensive language, and graphic violence. I like having the choice to see a movie without being subject to the above mentioned elements. The editing is very professional, and though the selection pales in comparison with Netflix's massive selection, it is perfect for me and my small family. They have a range of membership levels between $19.95 per month (2 DVDs out at once) to $39.95 per month (8 DVDs out at once.) All levels give you unlimited rentals. Clean Films is also one of those rare places where you can actually buy edited DVDs.

Clean Films customer support isn't very accessible (they have no phone number to call), but they are quick to respond to e-mail inquiries. And though Clean Films has a relatively small selection (I don't even know if it breaks a thousand) they are constanly adding movies from all years and genres. You can request movies to be edited, but they do have a list of movies that they won't edit, due to over-all subject matter or excessive edits. The only real beef I have with Clean Films is that some of their movies appear to be edited by a company called Family Flix who tack on a very long and self indulgent logo introduction that you have to sit through before the movie begins.

Netflix is the definitive online DVD rental service. A staggering selection of over 21,000 titles. A huge variety of genres including foreign, independent, television, classics, anime, you name it! Membership levels range from $13.95 a month (4 rentals per month - Up to 2 at a time) to $39.95 a month (Unlimited Rentals - Up to 8 at a time.) If my selection ever runs out at Clean Films, I'll switch over to Netflix!

BOTTOM LINE: This is fun, fast, convenient and well worth the cost.
The FREE TRIALS, really are FREE. Try it for yourself.
